I would like to mail merge the list of addresses from a businiess objects query to MS Word without exporting to excel or a database. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hello seidub,

Don't know if it is possible what you want, but you can skip excel or database anyway by simply using the "copy all" option on your report data and pasting it into word.

Thanks. What I need is a little more complex than your suggestion. I have a General purpose letter (in MS Word)that I need to send to customers based on a certain business event. I have written the query to select the names and addresses of all customers who fall in this category. What I need to do next is to link this output directly to the MS word document so as to spool out as many letters as there are customers in my BO results. By the way: I have defined all the appropriate "fields" in the MS word document. I just need to mail merge the BO report to the Word document without exporting to any other medium. Any more ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hello Seidub,

Well, I have an idea, but it's not what you have in mind.
Ever considered creating your general purpose letter as a BO document and using the query-data to create a section for the customer, thus creating a page ( = 1 letter) per customer? Seems to me that such an approach would be very efficient. But i'm biased, cause there nothing I hate more the MS Word.
