I'm trying to create a mail merge to get labels (which is not a problem). Under various conditions I want to throw to a new page but can't find out how to do it. It's got to be either easy or impossible!

What I'm after is some sort of condition like
{ IF { MERGFIELD code } = "P" { newpage } }
but what can I put in the '{newpage}' bit?

Hi Trentham,

Lets see if I'm reading your post correctly,

You want your mail merge labels to go to a new document and not to print.

Have you tried running your query and when the query has run merge to new document.

If I'm off the mark here please let me know.

What I've got is a lot of mailing details. They come in batches and each batch is to start on a new page (of labels). The start of a batch is marked with a code field having a specific value (eg. code = "P").

It's unimportant whether they print directly or go into a new document eventually, though for testing I'm doing to a document.

I hope that's clearer.

Hi,

Dont know VBA so not sure if you could write a line of code to cover this but from what you've told me the only way I can think of quickly (you've prob had this idea too) is to place the batch number as a merge field into the records and run a 'Equals to batch#' query on the mail merge dialog box to print out each indvidual batch.

Hope this is of some help,

Comboy.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I've decided to do the batch label producing in Access where I've got much more control and just use Word for the single batch instances.
