Hi,

I need some help here. I've created a Word mail merge document and am trying to insert a hyperlink text field. When it's merged in word it appears as:

www.tek-tips.com#
The merge is built off a query. Is there anyway to get Word to only insert "
-Tim

1. Highlight the hyperlink in Word.
2. Right click on the hyperlink.
3. Choose Edit Hyperlink.
4. In the field "Text to display" type the text as you would like it to display. i.e. "Link to tek-tips.com"

This same feature works in Excel as well as Word.

thanks for the tip, but I'm not sure I made my problem clear. I have a field in my database that is a text hyperlink field. I created a mail merge in word of all my contacts and their web addresses. The problem is that Word does not insert the web address as a text or hyperlink, it is inserting (for example):
www.tek-tips.com#instead of just:

I could go through and edit each hyperlink one by one, but I have a huge list, and that just isn't an option. I could also just turn off the hyperlink feature in Access, but it's an easy way for users to get to company websites.

What can I do??

Generate a query using the following expression:
DisplayWebAddess:HyperlinkPart([WebAddress],1)

Link your mail merge to the query as compared to the table. Microsoft Access's help on HyperlinkPart is quite good.

Good luck.

I re-read your earlier message -
In the query you are using for the basis for the mail merge document use the expression entered in the previous post as compared to the straight hyperlink field.

Best of Luck! [thumbsup2]
