mail merge - can't send an attachment

I'm trying to do a mail merge. But i want to send an atachment. When it's finshes it sends but without the attachment can anyone tell me why? I'm using office xp and sending a pdf!

Ummmm...... you are trying to send an attachment, which is an email function, but you are also trying to do a mail merge, which is a word processor function.

Need more information, please
