Mail merge button stuck

Hello,

A mail merge has been created in word 2003 with a list of Employee names, this list is used to print their names on their pay envelopes.
When using the left and right arrow to scroll throught the 170 mail merge names to print, the button reaches until record # 17 and won't go further, if you click the end button it reaches to 170
Once before, we troubleshoot and last resort reinstalled office 2003 to rectify.
Today again it happened
Can anyone help with this,

Do you notice anything odd about record 18? If you go to record 170 and click back to 19, will it let you go to 18?

I just spoke to the user, apparently when the last record icon is chosen it jumps to record # 18 and no further. If i scroll single, it reaches up to # 100 and then jumps to record # 10, at this point the single scroll button will not show any more record (not # 9 or 11)
I looked at # 19 record and it is just like the rest, even single scroll to # 9 and # 11 record looks fine
This merge is updated each week by adding or deleting employees from the list, therefore the total amount is not the same each week when it comes to printing
The user had to use an average total to print, in this case 190, this is the normal way as we can't see the last record to know.

Any more help will be greatly appreciated.

If you generate a finalized document for editing, are there any anomalies there? What about the source file?
