Hey,

I have an EX2000 server responsable for domain xyz.com, which is coming from a mail relay.

I installed a second EX2000 in the same site as the first one, and moved 2 mailboxes to test.
Sending mail from these mailboxes works fine. However, when mail from the mail relay (internet) or from a mailbox on the first server is send, it stays in a mail queue on the first server.

I have 2 questions :
1) how to solve this "internal mail routing"
2) the first server creates a new mailqueue "newserver.xyz.com (remote delivery). I want to know if this is normal.

I tested to send mail using telnet between the 2 exchange servers, and in that case, the mailflow works fine.

I doubt it has something to do with the internal mail routing, but I don't know where to look for any possible solutions.

Regards,

Peter

hi

in what queue are the messages stuck?
ESM => Queue Viewer

Local Delivery = Store Driver fault
Messages awaiting directory lookup = Categorizer fault
Messages waiting to be routed = Routing Engine fault
Remote delivery queues = DMQs to every remote destination fault (could be a lot)

i was thinking of smth else: check your global catalog settings, maybe create a new GC

if that doesn't work out:

turn on Diagnostics logging
Exchange 2000 diagnostic logging
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CCS\Services \MSExchangeTransport
Set all categories to 7

maybe turn on Protocol logging
Copy Protolog.dll to the ..\Exchsrvr\Bin folder
Regsvr32 Protolog.dll
\ESM\Server\Diagnostics Logging \MSExchangeTransport
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System \Current Control Set\Services \MSExchangeTransport\Diagnostics Logging = 7

should bring you closer....

kind regards

pdtit - were you able to solve this problem? I am having the same problem. The messages to the moved mailbox are stuck in the Virtual smtp server - in a new remote delivery queue. I can send mail from the moved mailbox, but all incoming mail (both from internal and external addresses) is getting stuck in this queue on the old server.
