I have a Merlin Magix system at a law firm. They just rented out a single office to another lawyer who is not part of the firm. I was able to set him up with his own extension and made him the owner of his 2 lines. The receptionist phone already has 15 lines on it and the other buttons are programmed for other things (VM Transfer etc.)I did have one extra button so I created a secondary cover so she could answer his phone. I just can't figure out how to have his calls go directly to his mail box after X-amount of rings. Right now nothing picks up. And I did create a mail box for him. I know I'm just missing something in system programming with call coverage.

Thanks

Pat

Under Lines and Trunks, find Principal User, and assign him for those lines. Then his personal mailbox will answer.

That's exactly what I did and his mail box does not pick up.

Prior to making the change to principal user the AA for the main law firm picked up.

I think that's where I need some help.

And how do you inspect who's in a group

Go to Extensions, More, Group Coverage, 30, Enter, Inspect

If you see all the other extensions that have voice mail, back up, Group Coverage, 30, Enter, your extension number, Enter.

If you don't see the other extensions when you inspect, back up and check every group from 1 through 30 (30 is the most commonly used, 1 the next, but the original programmer could have used any of them)

I am back at the site but for the life of me I can not find the inspect key. I did add his extension to group 30 but his mail box is still not picking up.

Never mind I got it. I forgot that on this phone a inspect key needed to be programmed. I then found that 30 was not the group being used they were using 1. Now everything works.

Thanks
