Hi, how do I reset the red alarm on the magix. The book is clear as mud on this.

Under MAINTENANCE,SYSTEM,ERROR LOG,PERMANENT .... when you see each alarm, press the drop button on the console or ALT P on your SPM programming. You will have to do this for each alarm in permanent alarms. Transient alarms won't trigger the processor alarm.

Thanks for the answer i had to clear mine as well....lol

While were talking about alarms..
The book says we can program a line/trunk that connects to an "external device that sounds or flashes when a major problems occurs"

Im sure i could buy one if i looked around but what kind of home grown device can be used for this. I dont know what can be connected to this location. Will something silly like an extra phone with message light work ?

thanks.........pete

I don't have any specific suggestions, but I have always looked at these type of devices a little differently. If you are hooking up something that will detect a major failure, you will probably already know about it roughly the same time it starts flashing. i.e. you won't be able to dial out. Some ideas are clearly lucrative scare tactics. I think this device fits into that category.

Thanks guys, that helps alot and I agree the trunk port for major alarm notification is a waste of time.
