I have a Magix R4 with PRI. Users are setup with TrkTransfer and RCF. When callers dial DID number they are forwarded correctly. Users have enter their numbers correctly with a 9 and a #. This part works correctly.

When someone in office answers call and then transfers to extension calls are NOT forwarded. What gives?

It sounds like not all users are set for Trunk To Trunk transfer.

I've had problems with some users not pressing the 2nd transfer.... they're used to waiting for people to answer, and in that case you don't need to have the 2nd. I haven't tested it recently tho.

I validated one extension and have used it for testing. The site tried it with my call using the following steps:
1. Answer call
2. press TRANSFER button
3. Enter extension or select from DSS
4. press TRANSFER again

I was able to duplicate the problem and verified the extension via a printout of extension info:
Extn SS/PP Type
4513 3/ 2 4412D+
Forwarding to : 92148346#
Rotary Enable : No
Remote Forward Allow: Yes
Trunk Transfer Allow: Yes
NS Exclusion : No

And the results were?

Again, the "EXTENSION DOING THE TRANSFER has to have Trunk To Trunk Transfer Permission as well.

Merlinman,
I just checked and all of the extensions have TrkTransfer enabled, x4500 through x4523. What should I look for now?

Thanks Merlinman,
Reliable disconnect was the answer. Is this setting normally switched off?

I think so, yes.

In fact, in a cheat sheet I developed to help senile me, I put setting that to on as something I should do.

Is that setting just a goofy thing on the MErlins, or is there a time that you would need to set it to "no"?

OF course, if the CO is providing a "FORWARD DISCONNECT" then it's best to have it set to yes.

It sometimes works to set it to no, and then let the trunk just time out. (I think that's settable by one of those interdigit timers), but it doesn't always work.

Case in point, I have a device (Cell Socket) that makes a CO Line out of my Cell Phone. I can set it either way and it makes no difference. That thing takes FOREVER to drop the call.
