We recently installed a Magix with a PRI. The PRI is terminating into a DMS-250 at the CO. I have no calling or routing problems, but I have a problem with Caller ID NAME not working due to a protocol issue with the PRI. Customer is now wanting to pull out the Magix and to with a different company all together due to this CID NAME issue. Other than POTS Lines, is there anything that I can do to get the CID NAME information to them? I have never seen the CTI link set up on a MAGIX. Will this solve my problem? Any input is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Nope, sorry, no CID name on PRI. Also, no CID name on analog DIDs, or GS copper trunks. And no, CTI wont fix this. However, I believe that you can get CID name with BRI.

It looks like this customer's expectations were set too high, or they ASSUMEND something based on their knowledge of caller id at home.

Too bad, a MAGIX with PRI is an extremely reliable system.

MAGIX/LEGEND does not support Calling Name. The data packet delivered to the switch can have the name in it if the service provider has the feature turned on.
If you are behind a DMS250, I doubt you will be able to get the name because that is a Inter-Exchange Carrier switch and only Local Exchange Carriers do the name lookups.
The only way to read this data prior to the call being delivered to the MAGIX/LEGEND would be to put a drop and insert switch between the network and your switch, read the data and pass it to the called party's Computer Screen or reformat the call packet to make it look like a native MAGIX/LEGEND call and pass it that way to the DN. This uses the native station label method.

Loop start lines will work, then programm a caller ID name button on a display phone (*763) and CHECK WITH CO to see if they send it. (paid for feature) The CO must provide Custom Local Access signaling System (CLASSSM) Caller Identification.

Actually, with the later releases of Magix, you get the name automatically as the line rings in.

Pretty cool....

ok..along the same lines...I have a Legend 7.0 w/ a PRI ckt used for DID & OB calls.
Outbound calls from the Legend to the called party only show the last 4 digits of the station..is this a PRI CID or Legend CID issue.

It's a thing you can massage in PRI options.

Number to send.....

(Unless the vendor puts the squash to it....)

You can go into each channel / line of the PRI and set a number to send each time that particular channel is used to make an outbound call.

I have a printout of the PRI translations...I don't see
where you can dictate the digits being sent out....Could
one of you fine techs enlighten me...In advance..THANKS for
your input..

It's in the PRI config menus. Sys Prog>Start>Lines/Trunks/Pri
