No, I'm not trying to get kicked off the forum, I just wanted to see if there was anyone else out there that religiously used system 6, 7 and 8 series (9.0 and above doesnt count, micro unix kernel) other than myself and thinks that apple made a hidious choise by going to unix and ever creating OS-X.

Personaly After so many years of using the Mac OS (mainly system 7.1) I grew to loving the fact it was so easy to maintain, took up only a few megs of RAM and Hard drive space. I mean lets face it, you could boot an LC with only two files, the finder and system files. I even quit my job as a Macintosh technician last year because of personal problems and I did'nt believe in Apple anymore, so went 7 years down the toilet. So is there anyone else out there that thinks Apple just isnt Apple anymore?

Apple is defined by innovation and creating good tools. OSX is a continued demonstration of this.

No one is requiring you to upgrade from OS7, 8, & 9.

I remember computers that started up from a single ROM chip and no hard drive with 16 kb of RAM. While I am nostaligic about them, I wouldn't dare trade my current OSX machine for an artifact.

People ask me to complain about Microsoft, I have not used/owned a Microsoft product since 1980, what is to complain about? My Macs are beige, they serve me well in 9.1, or if 68xxx 7.61 Panther looks very nice, tempts me to get a Mac in aluminum <G> Meanwhile, I use what I own and help where I can. I hate to say this, but are you SURE this thread is technical in nature?

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

There's nothing wrong with the 'technical' aspect (or lack) in this thread. Discussion about OS preferences is valid. I just don't think there is much to say about this. Those that complain about OSX apparently have not used it enough to appreciate it.

I can understand the frustration with having spent so much time working on a single operating system to have it tossed aside for a new one. That is why computer professionals adapt to whatever is the current trend. Its a wicked game to keep up with technology but the rewards are there if you play along.
