W2003 Server, SQL2000 environment, Macola 7.6.400b, several working XP PC's.

Do Client install on Windows 7. Seems to complete.

Try Progession SQL or Workflow clients and get failures, One was an "ActiveX failed to create object"

Config Utility also fails, doesn't seem to see DB.

??? Does Windows 7 work in a 7.6.400b/SQL2000 enviromment?

You need to upgrade to at least Macola 7.5.300 to use Windows 7 in a supported environment.

Have you tried running macola in an XP mode virtual machine?

DISABLE UAC then reinstall, would also delete shortcuts first

Rsymonds-

Did it work? Did you have to upgrade to 77300? Tek-tips doesn't charge by the word, give us some details.

yes, disabling UAC does the trip. I have about a dozen win7 clients running PWE 7.6.400B... as you have noted from my other post running SM is an issue.

Why do you not upgrade? We can offer suggestions but Exact c;learly does not support this platform.
