Hello,

We updated our LTs for purchased parts in the Item Location screen, "P/O Lead Time" field. However, after re-generating MRP the release dates and due dates are the same. Does anyone know why this might be the case?

Release and Due dates for what? The CP Order? Or a PO that has already been entered?

MRP uses the planning lead time in the item master for CP orders.

Hi dgillz,

Yes, for CP orders. The documentation we have indicates the P/O Lead Time Field in the Item Location screen is where we would place the component LT:

"P/O Lead Time: Enter the P/O Lead Time for this item. This is the number of calendar days that pass between the ordering of a new supply of the item and the actual receipt of the item into stock."

Is this field just for reference and not used in MRP calculations?

Thanks,
Eva Marie

That is correct. The majority of the fields in the item location are not used in MRP. You may notice that even if you have multiple item location records for the same item, you will only get a CP for the default location, and all supply and demand is aggregated to create the CPs for the default location.
