We have a 44p 170 machine and everytime we boot up the machine it prompts us with an error code 21A00001- E140 then the machine will restart....Any idea why it always restart? and what does this error code means?? Thnx in advance....

Are there any errors in error report ?
if you run diag and advance diag and system verification
( does it report any errors)
is there anything in mail ?

21A00001 Test Unit Ready Failed (hardware) Device, cable, controller
E140 PReP style load

Errpt is a good start.........also once the machine is up

alog -o -t boot| more
and look at the results for errors as the hardware
came up..... return code 0 is good........

errpt and diag as suggested by DSMARWAY are good starting points...

Check SCSI devices for proper addresses, make sure the SCSI chain is properly terminated and check all SCSI connections.
