I have a Windows 2000 Network with 3 MAC users that access one shared folder. 2 of the MAC are OS 9 and 1 is OS X. The user on the OS X box is having problems opening all the files on the shared folder and the OS 9 users are able to open them just fine. Anyone have any ideas?

Iam not sure how far you get and what does not work but try this:

Click on GO => Connect to Server
In the "Connect to Server" Window type
smb://servername.xxx.com (fully qualified domainname)
click Connect

If you get an SMB/CIFs Filesystem Authentication your almost there.

Workgroup/Domain: (enter Win2k Domainname)
Username: (enter Win2k login name)
Password: (enter Win2k password)

SMB support in OS X steadily improved over versions, 10.3 seems to work well. I use the IP address, ie: smb://192.168.0.12.
