hey,
I got a 350Mhz, slot loading, Imac G3 I tried installing jaguar on it and I didn't put the firmware update so the screen went all different colours and at the time I didn't know what the problem was, so I formated the Hard Disk and now that I have updated the firmware and I have tried to install Mac OS 10 and in the middle of the installation the setup comes up with an error saying some files need to be deleted and it has not specified the files that it could not delete.

Any Idea which files they might be???

thanx,
Aaron

If you truly formatted the disk, you would not have any files that it wants to delete.

Consider installing the original OS 8.6 that came with the Mac to check the hard drive and certify that it is clean. Once the drive is truly clean, retry OSX.

Thanx I was hoping that I wouldn't need to format the Hard Disk again because you have to install mac os 9.2.2 and then Mac OS 10 which you obvously know. I meant that I formated the Hard Disk before I installed mac os 9!!!

thanx for your responds so quickly anyway

try booting from the 9 system disk then using the disk utilities format the drive by zeroing the drive completely
then begin from scratch
