Mac on Windows Server

Our network in our office has several printers on it and one of our users has a mac on the domain. when ever he prints something it asks for a username and password. Is there a way to get it to stop doing that?

The username associated with the account on the Mac has to match the domain username (either the account used to login, or the account set up as the automatic log in account). And Running Mac OS X 10.3 or higher

Sadly I can't have him use the first one. I've seen that before but our systems engineer wouldn't let me set his password to not expire.

Is there a way to set up on the server that ANYONE, really anyone, can print from it without a user name and password?

Try setting the permissions on the printer to allow EVERYONE and see what happens. Or set the user up on IP printing directly to the printer and not using your print server. - requires loading a local driver, but no authentication required.

Does this user actually need to authenticate to the domain? You can set him to print directly to the printer's IP address

From what I've been told he's already tried that.

also I've done the EVERYONE thing too

He should be able to print to any printer through IP and local MAC print driver for printing WITHOUT authentication at all. Also, make sure the printer has Appletalk enabled.

I believe you need to physically be the one to do this. Sounds like you are trusting a USER....

You don't need appletalk. Install the printer using IP directly on the Mac. He doesn't need to print via a Windows print server esp as the PS emulator is rubbish.
