HI, I have some user using Mac lotus notes 8.5 or 7

why the user send out attachment to yahoo/gmail with a xls or doc file, the yahoo/gmail will said it is virus..can't open?

but If the same file send from XP notes client 7 or 8..no this prblem.

anything need to setup in Mac?

1. Do you have this problem with every xls and doc file that you send or only some ?

2. Do you have this problem with every Mac ?

seem all user have this problem.

with different DOC/XLS files.
But all file which send from XP notes without this problem.

after double test...in gmail.it may show in hqx file..so other user can't open...

so strange.

So whenever anyone sends an email from a Mac using Notes 7 or Notes 8, Yahoo mail thinks it is a virus ?
And gmail can't open it because it is in a hqx file.

Is that correct ?
You are seeing the problem from both version 7 and 8 ?

I don't know if this will help.
Found it on another help site.

One person suggests it is a server setting.
Another suggests it may be a client setting.

Check what you option you set for Mac attachment
If you have this issue on all Macs, check server settings:
Server configuration document - Mime - Advanced - Advanced Outbound Message options - Macintosh attachment conversion
If you have this on a few Macs, check clients settings:
Location Document - Advanced - Mime Settings - Outbound Mac attachment conversion

More specifically, this is generally a client problem, where the lcinet is using BinHex encoding for attachments instead of using standard Base64 (which is called AppleDouble in the Mac world).

The choice of BinHex versus AppleDouble is found where fgrushevsky indicates (Notes -> Location Preferences, Advanced tab -> Mime Settings sub-tab
