Mac locks up while ATM is examining the fonts and database

The Mac crashed, and when it was booted again it goes through its repair utility, finishes booting up, then a message box pops up saying that the ATM is examining the Fonts & Database. Then it locks up and is completely unresponsibe. Any ideas on how to get it going again would be great. Thanks in advance.

OS version? ATM version?

Try booting without extensions (hold down SHIFT). Once running, delete the preferences for ATM.

If you can save your font sets in ATM then in the preferences folder trash the Adobe Type Manager Preferences file in the Adobe Type Manager folder.Then import the saved font set or re-setup your font sets.
