Whenever I select a option like "dropshadow" from the effects I can't see all the settings used to set the effect. And if I want to edit the distance of the drop shadow I am only able to drag the distance and don't see the actual settings for any of the effects...(inner shadow, outer glow, inner glow, bevel emboss..etc etc..). I am left with two options, press escape to not apply the effect or enter to accept the effect. Can anyone please tell me if this is a setting somewhere? Thanks

You don't need eyes to see just the vision because there are always more ways and different answers to what we are used to...

In the "layer style" (blending options) dialog box, click on the name of the effect in the list to the left to bring up effect settings. Use the layers palette.
