Can I add a Mac to my domain in Server 2003? Is it compatiable?

I tried to do what the article said, but I keep getting this error - An invalid Domain and Forest combination was specified. You should enter a fully qualified DNS name for the domain and forest (e.g., ads.company.com). The problem is that the Mac computer won't let me enter a AD Forest. In the box it has automatic. What am I doing wrong.

What is your AD domain name?? If it has a .local extension then follow this;

I think that was my problem but it did not solve my issue. I still get the error message. The only thing I can think of is that I have the Active Directory Forest wrong. The problem with that is that it won't let me enter anything there. It just says automatic.

So your domain name has a .local extension?? Did you follow the link to the apple site in the link I provided above?

Yes, my extension is .local. The website you provided gave me the instructions that I need but it still comes up with the same error. When I pull up the Directory access menu it asks for 3 things. AD forest, AD Domain and computer ID. It lets me enter the info in AD Domain and computer ID but it will not let me enter anything the AD forest. Do you think that is my problem and if so how do I get it to let me enter the AD forest? It just has automatic in the space.
