There is a problem with a G3V9r swith, whit R9.05 software version.
The problem is related to the LAN connection through the CLAN.
The CLAN is properly administered and conected, but when you execute the status link the link status is connected but the Phisical Address is blank. I think the Definity does not recognize the Mac Address of the board.
Then I plugged several VALs, and reviewing their status it showes the Phisical Address as blank and the Link Status restarting or disconnected, so the VAL boards don´t work.
Thw CLAN is connected with the CMS and, making a ping from the CMS to the CLAN is alive, but from the CLAN to the CMS or to other destionation is aborted.

I thank any suggestion.

The board will never work until u have that physical address. To get that address u can busy and reset the board or try reseating it.

Do a status clan-port uudxxxx. this will give you the address.

G3 is right. But make sure you have the Data ext set up for your clan, or it will not read your mac address.

I agree with all of the previous posts. But if you have you're data extension in the switch already and still can not see the physical address, you may have a packet bus issue. Run the command "test pkt po 1" to see if you have any failures and look them up in the appropriate maintenance docs.

have you done the obvious yet and re-seat the boards?

There is a certain procedure to follow when installing the vals. I had the same issues and thought is was a bad board since the MAC showed all 0's. I beleive it was busy board, reset board, release board. Just reseating it did not work.
