Mac address help! 1

I've been given a request here at work that my boss wants to get the mac address of a computer so that he can register and give out IP addresses. this is way over my head. Does anybody know how to get the mac address of a computer by visiting a perl CGI web page?

I know that Telus does it and so does another place called:

http://stealthtests.lockdowncorp.com/cgi-bin/macaddress

but i have no idea where to start. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Net::Address::Ethernet on search.cpan.org is what you're looking for
