I know this has been discussed before, I need to get to the battery that maintains memory in power failure. Is there a link or picture or explanation of where the battery is..? How to replace it...

Thank in advance for your help....

No battery, it's a Capacitor

The cartridge has an NV ram memory and it has gone bad and wont hold a charge. You need to upgrade or get an other cartridge.

It has to be more than a "Big Cap" ! You guys trying to tell me that all they use for backup memory is a capacitor ! ???

I was told it goes by the name of "super cap" does the same as a battery last longer is not chemically dependant as batteries are.

I'm sure most of us on this forum understand the difference between a Cap and a Battery- size.

Why quibble? Performance of the Nortel product has proven their technology, and this is a case in point... We're talking about a product that was installed, probably, 20 years ago, and except for needing a little reprogramming when it takes a hit, works fine EVERY DAY.

Find me a PC, or server, or another phone system that can say the same.
