I have a m7310 with 3 incoming lines. Line 3 gets "activated" when I pick up the handset and make an outbound call. The overall order of lines is 3-2-1. Do I need to reconfigure the phone to reverse the line order or does that need to be done through the phone company?

That is the way Nortel works.
This way you never have a conflict with an outbound call glaring an inbound call on line 1 on your system.

There is a way to shut off the active lines and you have to choose which line you want to dial out from, but this may cause issues if you have speed dials set up in your system -OR- you can change the system so when you pick up your phone the internal lines are picked and you have to dial 9 to get a line out or press the line you want to dial out from.
Dialing 9 to get a line out always starts with the last line in the Line Pool.

Why would you want to dial out on line 1? Since that number is most likely the published number and people are calling that number to get a old of your company...

Thanks for the info. Its just a request someone was inquiring about. So basically this cannot be done on?

Reverse the order of the lines going into the system, then move the lines on the phone with F*81

but once you reverse the order that the lines come in on, the ringing line will start at Line 3 not on Line 1.

You still have not stated why you want to call out on Line 1 to begin with...

I have a customer who wanted to reverse the order of it.

Clid issues, I'll bet. We've gotten lazy. If we receive a call on our cell phones, we return the call to that same number. If line 3 is programmed to be answered differently than line one, then it could be an issue.

If that's the case, just take line 3 out of the pool, or make all the lines public, and give them line appearances.

If you just want to reverse the order of the lines, I would do what Silver987 stated then.

This will only change the location of the numbers on each set... but will not change the programming as RikRodgers stated, so if there is different programming for each line, this will not change.

So then goto every set and F*81 and move the Line appearances to where you want them.
