I just installed a MICS with Software Rel 6.1, The moment I installed and connected my PRI card all my Phone sets M7310 Rel 1 to 14 turned to be sooooo noisy, can anybody help, is there a problem between PRI and older Tel Sets?

I currently have 3customers that have 6.1 software with a good mix of those phones and they have no issuees.

Teleplop

We have ISDN-PRI running on MICS 6.1 with 160 stations, no problems. Do you hear the noise on intercom and outside calls? If you unplug the PRI from the DTI, does the noise go away? Have you disconnected all your analog trunks?

I'd look at the AC ground.

Have you reported this to the telco?

I'd be interested to hear what you find.

- Yes I hear the noise on Intercom and outside calls.
- Yes, it does go away when I unplug the PRI
- No, I did not disconnect my analog trunks, I need them
- Yes, I reported to the Telco, they told me your sets are not compatible! and that I have to change them.
- I changed all the sets which are less than Rel 16, and all is OK.
But I still have a problem with my E&M cards, they are also noisy!

i too would check the signal grounding -
try moving the norstar and the NIU/CSU to the same power circuit

Is this s true PRI - ie: dedicated to only providing voice - or is it a mix of data and voice that is either coming into a proprietary CSU/DSU the provides both voice and data outputs?

If it is a mix of both data and voice, make certain your provider has configured the VOICE to have priority over the data or you will have all kinds of little problems like the one you described.

If it is a trus PRI, you may have pair imbalance on the two pairs that the telco (last mile provider) is using. This is extremely difficult to isolate and may require several calls and lots of persistance on your end.

I too would like to know what sort of noise you are getting Farros.
Both over the PRI (were getting..) and the E&M trunks.
