Hello

i have just been asked to look at a nortel system whihc has these phones....

they have around 5 extensions and 2 main external numbers

ext.221 works fine
ext.222 works fine
ext.223 works fine
ext.224 works fine
ext.225 can make outgoing calls and reveice transfers but cannot receive from the external line

when the main external line gets a phone call all the phones ring....which i guess means there in some kind of group

i cannot find this group to add the phone in can anyone please help with this

also all the other phones have a Line001 set to K01:L001:LINE001 or something like this

and the ext.225 does not have this....so i am wondering whether it is something to do with this

i have accessed the phones feature by doing **266344 and 23646 which lets me into the admin features....the book says go to term&extns enter 225 and go to line access.....i do not have a line access option??? it starts at capabilities

any advice would be great

Cheers

You have to enter the config password to access higher level programming.

And we're not allowed to post them for you here. Your best bet is to google a Norstar Installer Manual. All the default passwords are in there.

ok thankyou....i think i have found the correct code.....

is there way to do a complete copy of an extensions settings to another phone? and if you would know what areas of the menu i would go for this that would be great

as this would save me alot of time in future

i have not tested the passwords i have found yet....will do on my lunch break

also is there a way to take a backup of the phone system and its settings? as i am doing this as a private job i would like to know i have helped them out a bit extra

Cheers

You have not posted type of system or software level.
M7208 is a phone (double check thats the model phone you are using)....if you can get into programming with that set then you have an older system 3X8 or 6X16.

Set copy can be done.

Backup requires software NRU (Nortar Remote Utilities) and a RAD (Remote Access Device) attached to system.
