I have rls 25 software for my option 11 system, and have downloaded from the nortel site the newest version software for the M3900 sets. I also have the instructions for running the phone downloads, but where do I store these files for downloading? Have I missed something!!!!

Why are you runnung the down load? Old versions?

The one site that I have performed a 3900 download for the download resided in PBX not a disk, the software on the switch was 1 or 2 rev's higher. Also the software release on the switch was just newer that the phone sets and was equiped with the updated flash.

I'm tryiing to remember what it was but there is a command in LD 32 or somthing that you can look up the 3900 sofware with in your PBX as well as the FDLU, I & F commands.

You need print your preiferal software versions(PSWV) in ld 22 and look for the 3900 series phone your wanting to change. The version number might be 45 or 53 depending on the phone. The new release software version will have to be loaded to the disk and the switch ini'd for it to take effect. You can find the procedure in the NTP's under software upgrades. Then you can just go into LD97 and set up your download schedule to run all the phones it can during a preset time frame. It will start and stop as you set in the schedule. You could also FDLF (force download) each set individualy in LD 32 but I only use this if I'm setting up a few phones, it takes about 7 to 10 minutes per phone. Thats why the schedule block is so nice. If you FDLF,don't interupt the switch until it is done!
Hope this helps.

I forgot to mention also that you can look at your current software version for each phone by LD32 and FSUM and then for each phone with the FSUM ALL.
To get the system wide download to start that you set up in LD 97 you'll have to do the FDLS ALL and then daily check the the FSUM ALL to see if they all got downloaded. Then to turn it off do the FDLC to stop it from running again.
