I have several users with M3904s that are Admin secy's and monitor several line appearances. They want to see CLID on all of the line appearances on their phones so that they can pick up on each others exts. They only want calls to their primary DNs (key 0 on each) to be logged by their phones. Instead, any call that comes in on any line appearance they have will be logged in their 3904 phones. Is there any way around this?

I seem to remember getting this to work in a previous life. There is also a sec'y here that said it worked properly on her 3904 at her last job. I have asked our PBX vendor to look into it but I just know the brainiacs on this site will come up with a solution if there is one. :)

You have options, but I agree with Hawks I dont think there is an easy way.

option 1 Take the Dn's off the phone except their own, and let them use call pickup if they can hear the other phones ringing

option 2 Install a 2nd phone for them with all the other DN's and leave their main phone with only their DN

Option 3 Give them all 2616 sets and not worry about it :)

Option 4 Install an expansion module and put the secondary DNs on it.

I haven't done this but documentation says the Callers Log doesn't work for keys on expansion module.

That would be the solution of the century Stanley :) I can't remember how many times this question was stuck with the answer that it could not be done.

Thank you all very much for your help. I was out sick and unable to reply until this morning. As usual, you guys are the best!

We set cls to add instead of tdd and have them use a display button to see who is calling on the other lines.

We discovered this when one site in our enterprise was upgraded and the people complained about everyones calls ending up in their logs.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. The Admins are watching about 6 lines, each. That shouldn't cause a problem?

Unless they don't like to push buttons :) With six lines each they must be using the shift key anyway so it will add an additional button press each time.

I have three other tech lines on my phone plus my second line and I never have an issue with it.
