Hello All
I have a department that has requested a "must answer line" basically if someone 0 #'s in voicemail a line will ring on all the phones in the department. I have setup key 02 as the same MCR on all the department phones and this works. However, when the phone rings you have to choose the line to answer it. I would like that line to auto-answer when the phone is picked up.

Thank you for your assistance.

Auto Answer usually refers to a Forced Answer scenario where calls are answered after 1-(X) rings. ACD - Forced Answer.

Thanks guys. The settings for the phone are listed below. The line still does not answer when the handset is picked up. What have I not done.

Your MCR line is on KEY 3 set as LPK 3, default is just prime line 0.

Thank you very much. Sometimes it is the obvious that eludes us. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

Hey GH, Should we tell him about the LHK?

I want the last hunt key to be 1. I do not want calls on the main line to rollover to the MCR. Thank you for your help though. I do tend to miss the details.

Been playing with these since they were SL and SL1 ST. Still get caught sometimes. (Even worked on SE and SG.)

That would be a short HUNT 000.
It's an MCR line so it wouldn't HUNT to 7590 until all were busy on an MCR call and the LHK would have to be 3 too.

The MCR will HUNT yo 7590 when it is busy -- It is busy when it is ringing, because when it is ringing, all appearances are "in use".

Of course, it is busy if every appearance is on a call as well. But it is more likely to appear busy to callers during the ring cycle.

In other words, only one person at a time can be "ringing" an MCR DN

Wow. Thought they'd need a full Busy to HUNT.

Didn't consider that when (NN43001-106 03.06)
"For DNs that are MCR, calls will only be given busy tone once every calltaker is busy answering a call. If one call taker is answering a call and there are other call takers available, a new call to that DN will cause the sets of the available call takers to ring. Any available call taker can then answer the new call."

It's too bad they don't address that in the books. It should read:

For DNs that are MCR, calls will be given busy treatment if either: 1) All appearances are ringing, or 2) every calltaker is busy on that MCR DN.

We don't use it in our ACD/CCMS environments. I suspect this is also an issue with Centrex MADN and why hunt sequences of individual DN appearances are promoted instead.

This is not an issue with SX2000's (Light or Dark)but I should have suspected as it is an issue when configuring BCM target line appearances ratio with Intercom keys and the sets Call Foward No Answer/Call Forward Busy.

Much appreciated.

No, it is not an issue with DMS/Centrex MADNs - I found that out converting from that to a Nortel. The MADN type of MCR works the way you would hope, and I've complained to Nortel a few times that they should get on the ball and make it work right on the little Nortel.

Mitel? LOL - they do everything perfectly :) except marketing. Dammit if you can't just put an analog where a digital was and even IT will work right!

They ruined a perfectly good lawnmower.

In the early days, the only SL1's I got to play with were being dumped at EOL to companies that couldn't support them anyway. If it hadn't been for Toshiba and Mitel I'd have gone into an honourable profession like meth lab technician.
