I really know nothing about the Merdian Option 11, but I need some help. Our maintenance guy moved a M2616 to a different office, and switched the line on our punch block. Now the phone will not work, and I am trying to disable it, then re-enable it before I call our phone tech. The phone was probably disconnected for about 10 minutes, but when I STAT the TN, it shows IDLE. When I do a ICU, it comes up with NPR503, but I've had our maintenance guy check the pairs and it looks good.

For my last attempt, I just want to disable, then re-enable, but I don't know where or how to do it. Would someone please tell me which load/commands I should use?

Thanks!

ld 20 disu x y, enlu x y, idu x y, if the phone gives you one flash when you plug it in, you are on a tn. it may be reversed. if it flashes forever it's on a analog tn. the pair may be one cond off at the punch down block (split) or on the wronge pair (rolled).

Thank you John for the quick response.

I did disable and re-enable, and the phone is still not working.

When you talked about flashing, do you mean something on the phone itself or on the dumb terminal. If you mean on the phone, I will have someone stand next to it and I will try it again.

Thanks!

Unplug the phone and plug it back in. When you plug it back in it will flash briefly if something is cross connected to the jack

Thank you, both of you.

The problem was with our maintenance guy. He was used to wiring plain old analog phones, where the pairs aren't that important. He didn't know (and didn't ask) that digital phones are a bit pickier, and all he had to do was switch the pair on the punch down block. Problem solved.

Again, thank you both John and Notellian for the quick answers.
