Does any one whereI can get designation strips for keys for 2616 type phones. I heard that there are little stickers that can be printed with a computer then stuck on keys then cap goes over it. Does anyone know where I can get them!!
nortel sells those, blank and preprinted if you like to tear along the dotted line.. i use excel and print the labels with a dark border then cut with snips... we have started putting in 3900 sets which are way better to label
Column B Cell width 10.33 and cell height 17.75 in Excel - then add some space to the left (column A) and right (C) for a fold-over. The folding is what keeps the paper in place as you place the keycap on the phone
I use a Brother labeler with 1/4" tape. With a little practice on how long to cut it, it fits perfectly in the cap, usually stays there when I flip it over to press the cap onto the key. Doesn't take very long, looks very nice. No tearing and folding. I don't peel the backing off either to keep the sticky stuff form working its way under the key.
For the phone number of the set (NPA.NXX.XXXX), I use 1/2" tape, but I think 3/4" will work better.
I like lableing the 3904s better. Takes no time at all!
For quicky labels I use an Excel spreadsheet with the cell width at 10.00 and the height at 18.00. I don't bother with foldover because they fit snugly in the caps. This works for both 2616's and KBA's.
We also use the Excel printing & scissors method. We tried standard copier paper but when you pop the key caps, the little paper rectangles go flying away.
So we use a medium card stock because it is thicker and fits snugly inside the clear key caps. You might need a paper clip or stick pin to remove the old key cap label. We also use the same card stock for the window under the handset.
