YOUR QUESTION IS BROAD. START BY PRINTING ATT DATA AND LDN DATA. SET ATDN AS THE NEW SET EXTENSION NUMBER. AND PROGRAM
THE ATTENDANT DN'S ON THE NEW SET. YOU MAY WANT TO MAKE A FEW OF EACH DN AND SET THEM AS MCR. DEPENDING ON THE CONFIGURATION OF THE CONSOLE SOME OTHER PROBLEMS MAY OCCUR. IT MAY BE EASIER TO REPLACE THE CONSOLE.
Certainly. If the console is out and you need a interim quick fix, go to LD21 REQ prt TYPE nit
You may see values in NIT1, 2, 3, 4. If so, that is where the calls have been going when the console is in NIGHT or is disabled.
Build your Operators new 2616 set - at a minimum, that set should have new (or well thought out) DNs from KEY 00 through KEY 06, should have HUNT set to "000"; should have LHK set to 15; should have CLS HTA; and should have a TRN key and an AO6 key.
The DN you put on KEY 00 can be the new value you enter at NIT1.
LD15 REQ chg TYPE nit; then at NIT1, enter the 2616 sets KEY 00 DN.
- There that is the quick fix.
---------------------------------
Now print out a few other items in LD21: TYPE ldn; and TYPE att. The LDN_DATA has the DNs that the console answers. The ATT_DATA has the "ATDN" - which is probably "0" for Operator.
Then in LD20, REQ prt TYPE trk - to print out every trunk looking for values in NITE and ATDN. Those fields, if populated, are where the trunks ring (DID and TIE trunks don't need to be reviewed)
Now you have a list of all DNs that the console handles. It is now your turn to ponder and ask questions - or you may be able to take it from there.
What you lose without a console are the "Recall" feature; and the ability to "camp" on to DNs that may be busy. It is insignificant if calls to busy lines go to voice mail.
If you have DNs in NIT2, 3, 4 (from the LD21 MIT_DATA) - things are more complicated...you can get a console at a fair price. Just call any secondary marketer and ask how much you can get for a "new one you have in surplus" then call another dealer and offer something a bit more than that to buy one.
make sure your night and day idc match since your going inot nights forever.. and i usually make 0 a maxp 1 acd and point it to a dn on the new 2616.. mail usually dials 0 by default along with menus so i usually keep that as a dn for the 2616
