I have a console that has started locking up on me. All the keys except the shift key will be lit up(solid). I took the console back to the switchroom and punched it down on the frame. I disabled the two tns' and then the card the tns' are on and backed out the card. After awhile I was punching it back down again and got this code on the switch terminal........any ideas??

i hear there is a patch to stop 2250 lockups...

rls? could be as simple as a bad 2250, if your pre-rls 3 it might be a patch problem. do you have more then a single console in service?

Sorry.. kinda late when I posted. I have two consoles, the other is fine(thank goodness) I'm on rls 4.0. I tried swapping the console got the same thing. Actually all keys are not lit up steady. Right now my loop keys are not lit, but sometime if I unplug and replug the !@#$%^thing I might have loop 4 lit up.

by swapping consoles you might have put the trouble on the port, change the card. if that doesn't do it. out the console and put it back in on a diff tn

might check for 2250 patches on rls 4, i'm running rls 3 without a console patch

Well I had to take console out of software and put back in, all ok now ,except for the uneasy feeling that gives me. I have yet to see any error codes for the tns' except maybe that one I posted that nobody knows anything about!!!!

The Reach Line Card (RLC) error messages provide notification at the PBX of alarms being generated by the Reach Line Card, 9110, 9115, or 9150. This enables alarms to be monitored at the PBX level, rather than at the Display Log level at the Remote Office.

That's what RLC is for but that error code isn't in the Succession 4.0 NTP's.

Still having sporadic lockups with both consoles, this has been escalted to Nortel, who keeps talking about display driver trouble.Consoles have both been swapped out, both riding new TNS and both amphenol ends have been re-terminated. any bright ideas out there?

How far is the console from the 1000M? Do you have the power TN's built and crossconnected?

No more than 150' and yes all 5 TNs are built and cross-connected. Nortel just got through dialing in and pulling th SSD data from LD 77 on a down console and is to forward to the design group. wish me luck<:)

at this point we can join hands and chant, either that or turn the switch up side down and shake it..

There's a Nortel bulletin on that

Bulletin # - 2005006172

After a period of inactivity (such as Overnight) the M2250 console display can fail.
Failure symptoms range from: a few out-of-place pixels or characters, appearance of columnar
bands, full pixilation/garbling of the display, and in some cases complete blanking of the display.
Occurrences are variable - may happen as little as 4 hrs after initial power-up (Out of Box); may
happen after running with no incident for a week or more.
If reset, the display may fail again and the elapsed time to next failure may vary.
Reports indicate failure can occur on units built/shipped over a year ago, as well as newer units.
NOTE - at this time, there is no indication this problem will occur when the M2250 is in use (is
Active) and therefore no impact on call-processing, attendant activities or customer operations is
expected.
RECOMMENDATIONS
While investigation continues to determine the root cause of this problem and in turn provide a
fix, Nortel recommends the following workarounds:
Refresh the Display via keystroke sequence by pressing SHIFT Key, Feature Key # 1, 'Dial pad
Key # 3 (for language selection), any number (1-6) on dial pad to select a language (such as # 1
for English)
If above workaround does not clear the display, perform a hard reset (power cycle) to the console
by unplugging console for a short time. When plugged back in and power is restored to console,
reset will occur.

There's your echo again, John. It looks like the bulletin says basically the same thing (join hands, chant, etc).

yes but with a lot more class

I'll join the chanting, it'd be nice to see that problem fixed, the workaround is a bit clumsy :(

Keep chanting folks, because this is not my main problem. The garbled display re-set procedure actually works. But this has only occured a few times since initial install. My problem is a complete lock up, all keys except loop keys light up solid and console quits getting calls.Unplugging and re-plugging has no effect, taking console out of software and re-building or switch initialization are only two methods that return consoles to operation. We are considering re-placing consoles with 3904s' or soft consoles. It's actually embarrasing to me.
