I have a Modular ICS system with a M12X0 module. We have 1 DID card installed which I was told will hold 4 trunks. We had 2 trunks installed but I cannot seem to figure out how to program the system. Also, I was wondering, on the M12X0 box, there is a red light on. (We have a green light on the main unit and I was wondering if the red light was a problem)

As above, we have 2 trunks and 10 numbers assigned. 1500-1509 are our phone numbers. I was trying to figure out how to send 1500 to me, and 1501 to our sales guy and so on. The numbers on the boxes are as follows:

M12X0:
MNTM040E1B48 2000/01/05
NTBB20FB-93 0027 REL06B

DID:
MNTM40EITBV
NT5B37GA-93
REL 02 2001/01/11

We have MICS 4.1

I am checking one the first part of your question as we have done this kind of thing may times, but the question about the light is a quick and easy one.

The red light is normal for the 12X0 Line Module.

I will follow-up (if someone doesn't get it before me) on the question about assigning DID's as soon as I get back to my office. --

There are some things to consider...

1. The system should recognize the installed DID cards as DID modules.
Also, has the phone company actually "turned on" the DID trunks? Usually,
they'll just install them, but wait for the phone system to be set up
properly so they can test it before they actually activate them.

2. How did the phone company set up the trunks/numbers? Signalling should
be "wink start". Also, the phone company needs to know the correct number
of extension digits (3, 4, etc.)

3. The system needs to be programmed so that the DID trunks come in on
target lines. And the terminal lines need to be programmed to receive the
appropriate extension numbers from the DID trunks.

These are the issues that you'll have to deal with. The details of these are a little hazzy to me as I haven't done it in a few months, but use this as a road map and you should be DID-ing in no time...

Enjoy!

Thanks. Here's what we finally figured out.

Our DID trunks are installed on line 049 and 050

Line 049: (Line 50 is set the same way)
Trunk Type: DID
Line Type: Public
Dial Mode: Tone
PrimeSet: 501 (Reception Desk)
Auto Privacy: Y
Link at CO: N
Aux Ringer: N
Signal: WinkStart
ANI Number: N

Line 145: (Beginning of Targets)
Target Line
Private to: 509 (My Extn)
Rec'd #: 1500 (Last 4 digits of my Direct number)
If Busy: To Prime
Prime Set: 509
CLID Set: 509
Aux Ringer: N
(Line 146 set to ext 505, Rec'd # id 1501 and so on)

System programming, set Rec'd # length: 4
Terminals & Sets assign target line to Appr&Ring or Ring only

yeah. we did that, but I left those out of my post by mistake.... Thanks DueE

Have an ICS with 5.0 software, 1 12x0 trunk module that I will be putting in 2 DID cards. How many target line appearances can be programmed for each extention? Also, can target lines be programmed to ring to Hunt groups? And if so, If I have 5 members in a hunt group can all of the members target lines be programmed to ring to that hunt group?

Thanks in advance,
CCI
