Hi all,
Does any one out in Avaya land have a copy of the application that Avaya uses to decode the MST traces? I believe its called Message tracer. We are trying to fix some issues with passing UUI and its coming down to the MST traces. I will provide an email address if someone has a copy to send me. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

That looks perfect! However the file wont download off of the server. Would someone please send it to me?

Nevermind I got it to come down.
Thansk for the help!

It's Easy.
1. Enable MST
2. Make test calls
3. Disable MST
4. Using ASA on the advance tab click report. in the command window type list mst.
5. Click the radio button for export screen capture to file. Then remember where you put the file. I usually put on the desktop.
6. Launch the MST Decoder. Click the File icon and but the file name in from step 5.

A word of caution The program is VERY slow.

Hope this helps

Ok i did all the steps from above, but nothing ever happens, lol. i hit decode data, wait a bit, nothing, then i click the calls table tab, again nothing. maybe it's something on the mst pages on my PBX(S8700 CM3.0)?

Check the MST options. Type change mst. Now I don't know what the options may or may not mean?!. But try messing with the options. I am currently on a remote install and have no access to my home system. Also I'm running a G3V11 and not a CM3.0. Anyone else have a success on a CM3?

Sorry about that. Once i get home I'll look at what options I have.

All Linux based media servers have built-in MST interpreter. Only what you have to do is:
1. change mst
2. check if Log Mst? and Trace Analyzer? are Yes
3. set what you want to trace
4. enable mst and make a test call
5. go to MS maintenace Web page
6. in System Logs select Communication Manager's interpreted Message Tracer (MTA)
7. Enter a number of lines (e.g. 9999) which will be decoded and press View Log

This is very useful when you want to trace IP trunk which is not covered by Definity Analyzer.

Hi, guys,
I have problems with my S8700:

"User not authorized to execute mta, contact AVAYA
The reason may be that ACM is not running or
the Trace Analyzer may be disabled in ACM admin."

Do you have any suggestions what to do? I believe some kind of Linux commands would enable the mta service, but dont know how.

Best regards,
SzuperK

See step 2 in the above post. These fields are in the change mst form.

What is release of your CM? In CM 1.3 MST interpreter was not enabled (only for Avaya technicians). Try with dadmin login.
