Lucent Cajun P550. Password recover.

I have lost my admin password on a Cajun P550 switch.
How can I reset it ?

It is easier,

Just start your P550 with the reset touch pushet and you acces to the product in the boot menu.
Just type the line NVRAM init followed by the enter key.
Reset the P550 and you will have de default configuration.

I also have acquired a used P550. I have physical access to this box and need to reset the system back to the defaults and the root password. I tried the suggestion of holding down the reset button on the supervisor module while powering on, but the switch then will not boot until the reset button is released. Then it boots up and loads the /nvram/startup.txt and configures the root password and system settings...

Am I doing something wrong? Any other way to hard reset this?

Ok....disregard my last message...let me give some clarification here...

Press and hold the Display Menu button, not the reset button as the system starts up and you will get the boot menu...then do an 'NVRAM init' ...
