I bought a ascend dsl pipe modem/router from a guy on ebay but he did not send me the orginal software. I went to the support pages on lucent and to ftp.ascend.com but only found updates for the orginal software. Can anyone tell me where to get the software? I need to get this thing up and running asap. Thanks.

You do not need the software to configure the router. You can connect to the router via the db9 serial cable and use a VT-100 emulator such as Hyperterminal to access the router. This is better than the companion software anyway since the software is limited in what you can do.

I have question regarding the db9 cable. Is the cable a null modem cable or straight through?
