I have a G3R system, which goes to a UCall 3.0 Call Records system. In between there we have a Lucent 8400B Plus Data module which seems to be in a test mode. The Red and Green light is alternating 500ms flashes. We replaced it with another and its doing the same thing.

I have tried to hyperterminal into the Data module with no success, and everything I have seen suggested dialing into it witha modem? Which seems quite awkward. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong? The 2nd one was an old one we had laying around the office, so it is possible that they are both bad, however according to the manuals the lights we are seeing are a test mode, and not a bad piece of hardware. Any help would be much appreciated.

that is what i have when i check errors.

the 513 indicates trouble with the CDR device itself or the connection to it from the 8400b.
the 257 is a link retry test.
can you swap the cdr devices?

sorry about that I forget what you had said earlier.
We know:
The CDR device is good.
The PBX says the 8400 is inservice/idle.( no wiring issues to the 8400 but no data to it)
This sort of points back to the processor to digital port.
the processor connects to the port via PGATE-PORT on older ones.
"status pgate-port"
on newer systems it could go processor to digital via netstat-link with CLAN board.
a little confused about a G3R 1.11

ok, so I have fixed the problem... Turns out some how the 8400 Lost power and lost its memory... However we could never hyperterminal back into the 8400... We finally contacted avaya and their engineer worked with me on it for about 4 hours with no success telling me my modules were bad.

In a last ditch effort I connected the 8400 to a No Modem cable and wallah, through in the following string

AT&C1&D2&S0=1&W0&W1&Y0S24=1

Fired up the call recording software and services and bingo.
