Hello,

I have an Ultrium 2 LTO tape drive which when I remove and reconnect it to one of my p630s, it does not make the device available (still defined). When I connect it to my other p630, it works as I expected - becomes available when I issue a mkdev or cfgmgr command.

What could be the cause??? Thanks

Hi ,
have you got the correct tape driver installed for the LTO on the machine that doesn't work ?

I think so because when I reboot it, it sees the tape drive already.

hi!

what type is your system connected with LTO? SCSI or FC?
To begin, your tape drive and machine see if it have lower microcode level. Upgrade microcode latest level.
if your system has FC type, you have to change the HBA devcie option for "pt2pt".
