Hello forum.
I inherited the phone system, and to be honest this is the first phone system that I have to administer. My background is Unix/Database administration - so obviously I'm looking for the quickest and most reliable way to connect it to computer and to use GUI of some kind.

Right now I can notice the card with network connector and connectors for display/keyboard/mouse that were installed into voicemail block.

Please let me know what is the common setup and what is the software needed for system administration via pc(terminal).

Thanks in advance,

Desktop messaging...allowing poeple to see when they have messages in their email. Your NAM should have come with a CD (setup and install manual) and a couple disks with 2 free seats to install Desktop Messaging. Fastest way is to setup a keyboard, mouse and monitor and editing the IP address of the NAM.
Here is a link to a friend of mine's site for the manual:

Thanks a lot for enlightening,
I don't think I have any soft here - since the system was bought from an auction.

Do they have any download sites around?

Thanks,
Y. Gelman

You can also use the NIC for Norstar Voice Mail Manager - which is a program that administrators would use(adding, deleting mailboxes etc.), but again this program is found on the CD that comes with a new NAM.
