can someone explain this!! as simple as possible!!!

Site A is a 8700
site B is a g700 with lsp.

when you administer programming you treat it like one big system. If the 8700 goes down where does the g700 get its translation from ie. do you have to programme the g700 in the begining with its own translations incase of failiure. If you log into a lsp it tells you that you cannot do save translations on it. so this tiny issue has confused me. Which isnt hard.

can someone enlighten me?

LSP gets its translation from the S8700 (sa tr all).So if link fails it functions as a stand alone.

You can send translations manualy (as jdeadly wrote: save translation all) or you can schedule it in system (change system-parameters maintenance).
If links fails LSP works almost like stand alone. You are not able to make any changes. And you have only 30 days to connect your LSP to the main site.

According to Avaya (or our vendor) after 30 days the system doesn't process any more calls but I found out - never tested - that if you just reboot your s8300/g700 the counter starts again to 30 days. (again never tested this, I've been on lsp but went back online after a day or two).

testled, note that if you have vector programming on your system you have to add rules in case you have transfers from your main s8700 to the g700. why? if you have a call comming from a ddi on the main site and transfer through vectors to a hunt that are now registered on the g700 the call will not reach them.

why doesnt the system just stay stand alone for ever if u like after all you have paid for the kit or am I missing something? sorry to be so brain dead.

as you have paid for LSP not for stand alone which is a different license.
