I have just taken over maintenance of a customer who has a CM in Almeria with an LSP off main site in Poland. I don't doubt for a minute that the software versions are different but is there a way for me to remotely check the software version of the LSP only?

telnet or SSH to it, (or dial it up, if you have a "remote" login), and type:

"swversion"

Do I telnet to the IP address of the S8300 or the g700?

The S8300... you will also need to login/pw of course as well.

cat /etc/opt/defty/essNodeList
cat /etc/opt/defty/lspNodeList
172.11.10.101

logins and passwords for the LSP / ESS are the same as the main. Commands above will give you ip addresses for all registered LSP and ESS servers

ssh dadmin@172.11.10.101

or

telnet 172.11.10.101
