Hi admins,

I'd like to administrate my printer as a nonroot user.
I have created a new user (lpadmin) with the group-member-
ship of lp. When I type in "lpsched" (as user lpadmin),
I get notified by the system, that lpsched is reserved
for administrators only.
What must I do , to be able to issue commands like lpsched
etc. as non-root user?

Any help is apreciated.

Regards,

Fred

Although I believe you could go the suid route, I would suggest using "Restricted SAM".
Check out man sam look toward the bottom for "Restricted SAM".

ps: my group setting on lpsched is bin (10.20)

Success !!

Thanks to jdktek. That's the solution I was looking for.
I started sam -r and configured the desired user as lp- administrator.

Your welcome !

Have a GREAT weekend!
