HEY

what is the flag in QPRT to the -J jobname in LPR
TIA

from the qprt man page:

-T "Title" Specifies a print job title with the Text variable. If this flag is
not specified, the first file name on the qprt command line is used as the print
job title. The print job title is displayed on the header page and on responses
to inquiries about queue status.

from the lpr man page:

-J "Job" Prints the Job variable as the job name on the burst page. Usually, the
lpr command uses the name of the first file.

Note: burst page or header page mean the same thing. Consult the man pages for more info. Also available on line...

Are you enclosing the name in quotes? Is your printer set up to print header pages?

Yes, I put the name in quotes,
