Hi, Could someone help me with this one? I tried to connect Canon BJC 2000 SP printer to my desktop computer which runs Windows 98. But, whenever I tried to print, there was an error message saying "There is an error writing to LP1. Please check if the cable is conntected properly and the printer is on line." I checked both and they were all OK. I also tried this printer on my friend's computer and it worked fine. From that, I know there must be something wrong with my computer but I don't know what could the problem. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Your printer port may not be set to match the requirements of the printer.
The manual should tell you the printer port setting you need, and setup for CMOS will be the place to change it.
Or set it up like the friend's machine. Ed Fair

Hi, WindowWizard
The port name is LPT1. It's a typo. :-<
