Hello all,

is somebody experienced in recent time the lower MS SQL server performance? On our production servers we encountered dramaticall decline about two weeks ago.
There wasn't any action which could cause this problem. We have information from another ms sql professionals the same issue (lower performance about 80%).
On that server we have automated Windows updates. So we suspect that some of Microsoft patch caused this issue.

Does anybody have the same experience? Do you have any recommendation?

Thanks for advance.

Hi riska,

Not really - we also have automated Windows updates but a drop by that much in performance would appear to me at least that something else is at play.

Would you mind sharing what tests you might have run to verify/isolate cause?

I have successfully used Quest Performance Analysis tool to find and correct problems at a client location. I also used Idrea tool successfully but perferred the tracking in time feature from Quest. You could try it on a free trial and see if you you drill down on the problem. That's what I'm getting ready to do again soon.
