System Type: IP500 V2
Inventory:
Slot 1= Combo Card (DS6/Phone2/VCM10)
Slot 2= Base: Phone 2/Daughter Card: None
Slot 3= Base: VCM32/ Daughter Card: None
Slot 4= Empty
Software Release: 8.0.51
Trunks: SIP trunks with Windstream/Paetec
VMPRO Software Release: 8.0.3006

Issue: Low Audio when inbound SIP call is transferred to off-site answering service.

Basic Call Flow Description:
Inbound Windstream/Paetec DID routes to a front-end auto attendant. Caller chooses option which routes call to an off-site answering service.

Windstream has cleared the trouble on their end, and said that the pbx (IP500V2), is "merging audio streams", and that the pbx is the culprit.

Avaya has already replaced the IP500 to rule out the chasis, but didn't replace either VCM module.

Any help, or suggestions would be great!

Thanks,

J.R. Trevino

Try routing the call from the incoming call route straight out to eliminate VMPro.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks tlpeter, but the client requires that calls hit the AA first, as not all inbound callers choose the option routing them to the answering service.

I'm wondering what changing REFER SUPPORT from the default "auto", to Never would do.

two SIP channels are in use for the duration of the call currently. If "never" is selected will the IPO dropp the call once the transfer is completed?

Incoming: Default = Auto
Select whether REFER can or should be used when an attempt to transfer an incoming call on the trunk results in an outgoing call on another channel on the same trunk. The options are:

· Always
Always use REFER for call transfers that use this trunk for both legs of the transfer. If REFER is not supported, the call transfer attempt is stopped.

· Auto
Request to use REFER if possible for call transfers that use this trunk for both legs of the transfer. If REFER is not supported, transfer the call via the system as for the Never setting below.

· Never
Do not use REFER for call transfers that use this trunk for both legs of the transfer. The transfer can be completed but will use 2 channels on the trunk.

· Outgoing: Default = Auto
Select whether REFER can or should be used when attempt to transfer an outgoing call on the trunk results in an incoming call on another channel on the same trunk. This uses system resources and may incur costs for the duration of the transferred call. The options available are the same as for the Incoming setting.

BTW, another programmer asked me to tell you that she likes the Big Bang Theory quote, however it is innacurate. She said..."Sheldon never says insane"...he says ..."I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested"....
haha

I think he said it two times.
Once with crazy and once with insane.

I suggested the incoming call route just to test to see if this works fine or not.
