Hello

I have just d/l a trial for Lotus Notes R5 and would like to use this instead of Outlook Express but I can't for love nor money get it to automatically check for new mail!!!

I am on a 24/7 cable connection. I have set in the preferences for it to check for new mail every 2 mins yet it won't! I have to manually click on 'recieve mail'. Then it retrieves new mail fine. Also when I send something it doesn't sent when I click send. Even though it has gone into 'Sent'. I have to click on 'Send outgoing mail'. This is really anoying! It must be something very simple I need to change!! Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Are you just using this as an alternative email client or are you using this on a network with Notes Servers? Lamaar75@hotmail.com

Im using it as an alternative email client. I'm not on a network with Notes servers.

As far as I am aware, this will only work when connected to a notes server - I may be wrong here. What you may have to do - and I'm saying this because I don't use it for the Internet, is go to you location document (maybe called it Internet - botom right hand corner) and enable scheduled replication. You can set this with different preference to suit yourself.

This should stop you from having to click on receive mail.

Nah doesn't work I'm afraid. This seems crazy. All I want it to do is check for mail on on ISP mail server all by itselfe! Looks like I will have to go back to Outlook. Thanks for the advice anyway.

Once you have created a replication schedule, you will have to enable it on the replicator page. This is on the lefthand side and the icon looks like a laptop and server. On the replicator page, you will have to enable the replication at the top.

I need some help on notes client.
The problem is foolow: when user send mail from notes client and recipient receive the message in from option is not the e-mail of the sender but e-mail of system administrator. And when you try to replay the message the receipient address is administrators e-mail address. I try to check everythink on server and on the client side, but without any success

Have a poke around your location document that you are using - in the bottom right hand corner, it will most likely say "Office" - click on this and choose "Edit Current". Have a poke around and change the email address here and see if it works like you want it to.
When you say server, do you mean your own Domino server or your ISP ? This is important to how Domino/Notes work.
