We are running Lotus Notes (6.5) on Windows 2003, networker client v7.3 and Legato Notes Module v3.0.
The backup server is a windows 2000 server with Legato Networker v7.3.
Backup never starts for NOTES: and we receive the following error message:
The time specified for parameter 'NSR_SAVESET_BROWSE' is invalid: Lotus_Notes_M_Browse (lnm_parm_time|10|15|0)

Already changed the regional settings on the backup server to match the client settings. But no changes.
Does someone already see that error message?
Thanks,
Dominique

I have the same problem. I was told from support to try to recreate the client resource. However if you create a browse/retention with a <10 character name it will work.

I will try to this tomorrow!!!!

Hello,
Thank you for the information.
I recreated a new Browse and Retention policy with a short name.
I also changed the Browse and Retention policy on all ressources of the same client and it works.
I don't have this error message anymore.
But I have another error message now:
The call to NotesInitExtended failed: 259 (notes_sess_open|1235|7890|6)
Any idea?
Thanks,
Dominique

I *think* Notes API error 259 is "file not found", but i´m not sure. Don´t know what file is supposed to be missing but if you are doing an incrementall backup of transaction logs, one of those logs might be missing. I´ve seen it many times on Exchange but never on Notes. Hope it helps you in some way.

Cheers!
Maverick

I am doing a full backup of Notes DB.
It happens on all 3 Notes servers.
I also verified that the path environment variable includes the path to Notes Data and executable directory.

What do you have in the Save set, Application information and Backup command fields?

Is it a regular Notes installation or is it partitioned?

Are the databases (data folder) located on the same disk/volume as the installation itself, or do you have them on another disk/volume?

Have you set up the "Notes_ExecDirectory" environment variable properly?

Cheers!
Maverick

Hi,
This is not a partioned Notes.
Notes data folder is on a network drive because it is located on a filer.
The configuration is as follow:
Save set:
NOTES:
Backup command:
nsrnotesv.exe -z c:\nsrconfig1.txt
Application information:
MYARGS= -D9 -P1 -v -R
NML_SKIPDBERRORS=Yes

Notes_ExecDirectory" environment variable is set.

I will change from D9 to D8 because it seems there is a problem with D9
I will also check again the configuration file for the backup path.
Thanks,
Dominique

Not sure that´s supported, UNC path is supported, but i don´t think you are able to backup mapped drives, at least not on a regular filebackup. But try and change the -R flag and instead use the path to the data folder. The Notes module can be case sensitive from time to time, so make sure all your paths have the correct cAsE. You can also try and use the UNC path instead of the mapped drive. I´ve never tried this myself but give it a shot.

Another way you could try is by not using just NOTES: as the save set, but specify the path as well. Try one way at a time.

Aslo, i would suggest using -P 2 to get two savestreams instead of just one.

Save set:
NOTES:F:\Notes\data
-OR-
NOTES:\\server\Notes\data

Application information:
MYARGS=F:\Notes\data -P 2 -v
-OR-
MYARGS=\\server\Notes\data -P 2 -v

Cheers!
Maverick

I forgot to add that you can also try the -x flag, to force cross mountpoints backup. I think you can speify it in the Application information field, otherwise set it in the backup command attribute.

MYARGS=F:\Notes\data -P 2 -v -x
-OR-
nsrnotesv.exe -x -z c:\nsrconfig1.txt

Cheers!

Hi,
I have tried Notes backup with the following parameters:

nsrnotesv.exe -z C:\nsrconfig1.txt

MYARGS=N:\Lotus\Domino\Data -P 2 -v -x
NML_SKIPDBERRORS=Yes

and
MYARGS=\\filer\data02\Lotus\Domino\Data -P 2 -v -x
NML_SKIPDBERRORS=Yes

save set:
NOTES:N:\Lotus\Domino\Data
or
NOTES:\\filer\data02\Lotus\Domino\Data

But still the same error!
Dominique

The Notes Databases are located on a network drive n:\Lotus\Domino\Data\
Is it supported?
Althought it was working until someone upgrade the client from windows 2000 to windows 2003 on the Notes server.
